VEON: VimpelCom’s IFRS revenue jumps 6.2 % to 69.6 bln rbl in Q2
MOSCOW, Aug 31 (PRIME) -- Revenue of Russian mobile operator VimpelCom, working as Beeline, increased by 6.2% on the year to 69.596 billion rubles in April–June, as calculated under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company’s parent, Amsterdam-based VEON, said late on Monday in a statement.
Total mobile revenue rose by 5.8% to 59.511 billion rubles, and total fixed-line revenue increased by 8.6% to 10.085 billion rubles.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) edged up 2.2% to 26.298 billion rubles. The EBITDA margin went down by 1.5 percentage points to 37.8%.
Operational capital expenditures increased by 22.4% to 22.077 billion rubles.
The number of mobile subscribers rose by 0.6% to 50.1 million “reflecting the success of several initiatives. These included an accelerated network rollout, customer-centric offers and the elimination of unrequested services from content providers,” the statement read.
